INTRODUCTION

Hi,

My name is Laura. I´m 29 year old clothe- and print designer. I did my fashion and collection design bachelor´s degree in Muotoiluinstituutti, Lahti, and I graduated 2011. Now I´m in Aalto university, Helsinki, finishing my master studies. In my studies I have focused mainly to textile and print design. My studies are otherwise done except my thesis. I´m now working with that next to my daily work. 

 My internship led me to have a job as a young girls print designers assistant at H&M. I moved to Stockholm in february 2016 and I really enjoy my city/country balanced life here. I have worked with kids clothing also in my previous jobs and therefore gathered experience from industrial and commercial design. I love my job, but I really wanna do my own artistic projects next to my job and keep my artistic portfolio alive. Starting a print designers blog felt a motivating idea.

 Passion, creativity and craft skills are floating free in this blog. I wanna share things that inspire me, stories behind my prints, my working methods and the final results. My biggest inspiration source is probably my own imagination and the wicked worlds from there. Cats are my muses and I think that they all have their own cat stories to purrrrr.

 My style is strongly story telling decorative and colorful, but I think that my strength is also the variety. My works can be anything between artistic or commercial but they all transmit my own distinctive handwriting. I hope that the stories I tell through prints will give you joy and happiness and that they also inspire you to share your own stories.
